What to Expect

Before you are harnessed in, trained instructors fit you with a full-body safety harness, helmet, and secure pulley system. A brief safety demonstration covers body positioning and braking. The entire process, from gear-up to landing, takes about 15 to 20 minutes, though the actual ride lasts around one to two minutes of pure exhilaration. After completing the zipline, most visitors head straight to the 900 Kandi Glass Bridge, a transparent walkway suspended over a gorge that offers its own brand of thrills. How to Reach

900 Kandi is located near Meppadi, approximately 22 kilometres from Kalpetta, the district headquarters of Wayanad. From Kalpetta, drive south on the Kalpetta-Meppadi road and follow signboards for 900 Kandi after reaching Meppadi town. The drive takes around 40 to 50 minutes through winding hill roads flanked by tea estates. From Sultan Bathery, the distance is about 35 kilometres via Kalpetta. If you are coming from Kozhikode, take the Thamarassery Ghat road to Kalpetta and continue to Meppadi, a total journey of roughly 95 kilometres that takes about three hours. Auto-rickshaws and taxis are available from Meppadi town to the 900 Kandi complex. The nearest railway station is Kozhikode (about 100 km), and the nearest airport is Kannur International Airport (approximately 95 km).
